How to Join

Becoming a member of Kitusacco is simple and straightforward.

Step 1: Visit Our Office

Visit our main office in Kabarole Town or contact our agent in your area. Bring your national ID or any valid identification.

Step 2: Fill Application

Complete the membership application form. You can choose to join as an individual or as part of a group.

Step 3: Pay Membership Fee

Pay a one-time membership fee of UGX 20,000 (individual) or UGX 100,000 (group registration). This is non-refundable.

Step 4: Buy Shares

Purchase at least 5 shares at UGX 10,000 per share (minimum UGX 50,000). This makes you a true owner of the SACCO.

Step 5: Start Saving

Begin saving with us. You can deposit as little as UGX 5,000 to start earning interest on your savings.

Step 6: Access Services

Once registered, you can access all our services including loans, training, insurance, and investment products.

Membership Requirements

Eligibility criteria for joining Kitusacco.

  • Must be 18 years or above (or a minor with guardian consent)
  • Must reside or operate a business within Kabarole District or neighboring areas
  • Must have a valid national ID, passport, or refugee ID
  • Must understand and agree to the SACCO's bylaws and regulations
  • Must be willing to save regularly (minimum monthly saving: UGX 5,000)
  • Must purchase the minimum share capital (5 shares = UGX 50,000)
  • For groups: Must have a minimum of 10 members and a constituted group structure
  • Must not have a history of financial fraud or default with other institutions

How much do I need to start saving?

You can start with as little as UGX 5,000. However, we encourage members to save at least UGX 20,000 per month to build meaningful savings.

Can I access a loan immediately after joining?

New members can access loans after saving consistently for at least 3 months. Emergency loans may be available sooner under special circumstances.

What if I want to withdraw my savings?

You can withdraw your savings at any time, though some notice may be required for larger amounts. Shares can be refunded upon leaving the SACCO, subject to board approval.

Are my savings safe?

Yes. Kitusacco is registered under the Uganda Cooperative Societies Act and follows strict financial management guidelines. We are audited annually by an external auditor.
